Lakeside Lawn Care’s
Community Inclusivity Mission
Lakeside Lawn Care is more than just a business; it's a reflection of our family's journey and our core values.
As a family, we've navigated significant health challenges that have shaped our understanding of empathy, perseverance, and the need for a supportive and inclusive environment. These experiences have given us firsthand knowledge of the obstacles many face in finding meaningful employment.
To provide context:
Corey lives with the long-term effects of an amputation, mental health diagnoses, and chronic pain.
Nicole lives with Ehlers Danlos, Sensory Sensitivity, mental health diagnoses, and chronic pain.
Conner, our oldest child, is Autistic and also experiences Sensory Processing Sensitivity, other mental health diagnoses, and chronic pain.
Chelsea, our middle child, has POTS, Ehlers Danlos, Sensory Sensitivity, mental health diagnoses, and chronic pain.
And our youngest is also Autistic and lives with a rare gene deletion, multiple kidney-related diagnoses, POTS, Ehlers Danlos, Sensory Processing Sensitivity, and chronic pain.
Like many, we all have faced recent employment challenges. The systemic barriers to employment became strikingly clear when Corey lost his job, Nicole faced challenges returning to work after 18 years as a stay-at-home mom, and our son and daughter encountered their own employment struggles. Corey realized that if any of us wanted work, we would have to create it ourselves. That's what led us back to Corey's passion: Lawn Care.
These experiences have instilled in us a profound commitment to the community. We understand firsthand the challenges individuals in the Disabled Community can face, and we've made it our mission to build a business that not only provides exceptional lawn care services but also creates meaningful employment opportunities for everyone, including those who are typically overlooked. We believe in the value and unique contributions of every individual, and we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
We recognize that traditional workplaces may not always accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. We are striving to create a workplace where everyone can thrive.
This commitment shapes our values, emphasizing the importance of accessibility, clear communication, and going the extra mile.
At Lakeside Lawn Care, we're not just caring for lawns; we're caring for people. We believe that by fostering a culture of inclusion, we can strengthen our team, better serve our customers, and contribute to a more vibrant and equitable community.
